Howdy friends! We are still here, just barely surviving the last month full of remodeling drama and craziness. My new motto is "Keep Calm and Remodel On!" We are getting so close, we just have to keep our eyes on the prize and try not to let it all drive us completely insane. It is so much harder at the end than I thought it would be. Each day feel so long and even though the weeks are flying by, I wake up each morning and it feels like "Ground Hog Day" again, still living in the midst of our remodel. But instead of focusing on the stress, I would rather share all the recently completed projects.
Let's go through the kitchen door to take a peek...
One of our new Ipe wood decks. I love this pic of the palm frond shadows.
Our new Bertazzoni gas range! So excited to use it!
The butcher block counter tops from Ikea are finished thanks to Mr. Bamboo's hard work applying many layers of sealant.
We have a few light fixtures up now including this awesome glass pendant.
It is very exciting to see light fixtures that we purchased a year ago finally be installed.
However, the most exciting install this week was our custom bamboo vanity! It is so beautiful! I can't believe how much storage we are going to have in our new bathroom. Now that this is installed we can finally get the master bathroom finish work underway. We are going to use Caesarstone in Nougat for our countertop and it is getting measured and templated today.
We also have our new limestone tile. We had originally chosen one called Crema Europa but after waiting 3 months for it to come from Spain, it had really dark markings that looked like dirt streaking through it and it did not resemble the sample tile we had been given. So we returned it and decided upon a even lighter limestone called Chiffon Creme. It is exactly what I hoped the first one would look like, Bahamas beach sand with fossilized seashells throughout it. The tile will be installed in the next few weeks.
As for Easter fun...
The Easter bunny left special treats in Finn's barn.
The happy boy!
We also enjoyed a fun trip to the San Diego Safari Park on Easter courtesy of free tickets from our Chicago family who visited us last week.
Thanks for stopping by our blog! We can't wait to show you our completed house hopefully soon but for now we will...
